1. Pages & Navigation |
This is ONE WAY to organize your site navigation. You will be playing with a couple of other navigation schemes later on. Do not get attached to any one method just yet. We will be looking at design principles later and you will be changing the way you handle site design navigation on a regular basis. This first step will make all of your pages easy to access for now.
Instructions for pages to create are under the video. |
Create pages on your site and organize navigation. You will be creating and changing pages and navigation throughout the program, but you can begin with these pages and subpages:

Take one of your pages, perhaps the "About Me" page.
Add elements to the page and experiment with layout.
|
Experiment with fonts throughout your site. Play with paragraph fonts, title fonts, header fonts...
You do not need to make any drastic changes; at this point you simply need to know what is possible. If you do decide to make some changes, here are a few design principles to help guide you:

Evaluation: During the build process of the ePortfolio, it is important that you are not held back by waiting for your instructor to approve your work before moving on. During the build process, your instructor will view your ePortfolio several times... but not for each activity and submission. This is one of those activities which does not require instructor feedback, so please continue to the next activity once you have completed this one. At this point, your instructor will be spot-checking, but you will receive credit for this work once you have followed the directions and submitted. Feedback will be coming to you, but please do not expect feedback for every step of the process. What your instructor will be looking for when spot-checking your ePortfolio:
